Deliciously Dirty Little Secret

November  30, 2020

Nine out of 10 people love chocolate.

I confess I am among those counted in that statistic!

What I did not realize, however, is that chocolate has several deliciously dirty secrets, and they have to do with why it’s so darn healthy for us, in moderate amounts, of course.

So what are those secrets?

Feel Like Life's Too Much to Handle?

October 31, 2020

Anxiety…who hasn’t felt it one time or another?

It seems that every year around autumn, I experience begin to worry, stress, and get anxious about the change in weather, the start of school, the decreasing amount of daylight, and the approaching holidays.

This year with the pandemic, it seems the anxiety could be worse.

But I have a secret: years ago I found a cure that has helped.

It seems especially important for me to share that secret this year, so here it is!

Playing Hide and Seek with Yourself

October 1, 2020

The phrases “finding yourself” or “finding purpose in life” have become almost clichés, yet these goals, desires, or dreams are intensely meaningful and should not be dismissed lightly.

I’d like to take a spiritual look at this goal through the eyes of the Divine Feminine.

How does it fit into your life plan?

The Treatment No Doctor Will Tell You About

September 2, 2020

Many of us go through our lives carrying unnecessary burdens.

Perhaps they had a purpose, briefly, when we first encountered them.

But oftentimes we let bad experiences, poor relationships, physical challenges, or emotional traumas live on well past their shelf life until it ruins ours.

That’s when it’s time for the ultimate treatment: forgiveness.

Are you ready to heal and reconnect with your Divine Feminine?

July 5, 2020

I admit I was blown away by this simple yet powerful activity.

Once I started doing it, it became almost addicting…but in a good way!

It became my friend, my confidant, and a source of comfort.

It also awakened so many feelings in me while also filling me with a sense of power.

What am I talking about?

Choosing Self-Care is an Act of Love

May 7, 2020

How do you define self-care?

What would you describe as self-care acts or behaviors?

If you think it’s about being selfish or not caring about what others think or do, or about always thinking of yourself first, then I’m delighted to let you know you’ve got the wrong idea!

Did you know, for example, that self-care involves eliminating toxic relationships from your life?

That’s just one part of self-care.

Do you want to learn how self-care can dramatically change your life and the life of others for the better? Then read on.

How to Live a High Vibrational Life

April 7, 2020

You’ve probably heard the phrase “good vibes” or you may have felt “good vibes” coming from other people. Those vibrations are real, and that’s because you and I and everything around us is made of up vibrational energy.

Another way to think of it is that it’s the same as saying high frequency. High frequency, or high energy, is a positive thing. Maintaining a high frequency will make a tremendous difference in your life, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

You can literally vibrate with your sacred Divine Feminine self!

Every Day Is Women’s Day

March 8, 2020

March 8 is recognized as Women’s Day, and while I applaud its existence, this symbolic gesture is a long way from the ideal: every day is women’s day.

Commemorating this day causes me to reflect on the meaning of the Divine Feminine and how I got separated from mine at an early age. I didn’t realize until many years later that my body is a sacred vessel and that I need to honor it through various self-love and self-care habits and actions.

Food Is…and Isn’t the Answer. What’s the Question?

February 9, 2020

For years, I used food in all the wrong ways. I deprived myself of nourishment

to help me bury the shame, fear, frustration, anger, loneliness, and depression that haunted me every day. Then I did a complete turnaround and ate food to stop experiencing the same feelings.

Guess what? Neither of these strategies worked. They didn’t fill the void I carried with me every day. My body, mind, and spirit still felt empty.
Does any of this sound familiar? Are you living with a feeling of emptiness and hunger?
Fortunately, I discovered the secret to having a healthy relationship with food, and it completely changed my life. Are you ready to have it change yours as well? Read on!

Forget Resolutions!

January 10, 2020

Happy New Year, Dear Sisters!

Welcome to the rest of your lives! Did you think I was going to ask you what your New Year’s resolution is? No way, and here’s why.

True, this is the time of year when we’re told we should make a fresh start or make promises/resolutions. However, most of the time this is simply a recipe for frustration and failure.

I have a different perspective. Wonder what it is? Read on!

3 Simple Rules To Staying Sane During The Holidays

December 12, 2019

I’m so glad you are reading this blog right now! Although you can’t see me, I’m casting out my arms and embracing each and every one of you and also asking you to:

1. Relax your shoulders
2. Take a deep breath through your nose and hold it for several seconds
3. Slowly release the air in your lungs through your mouth
4. Repeat steps 1-3 at least two or three more times
Now that I’ve slowed you down, for the next few minutes I invite you to block out any feelings of anxiety or stress that may be whirling around you. In addition to your usual routine job and chores and responsibilities, you may be facing the hectic demands of the holiday season—gifts to buy, parties to plan and attend, crowds, traffic, financial worries—it’s enough to drive your adrenal glands into overdrive and even eventually shut down.

How To Love Your Bones Better

November 12, 2019
Recently I’ve gotten some messages from readers who have asked about bone loss and osteoporosis. Specifically they are worried about doing the right things: what they should be eating, if there are supplements they should take, and what else they can do to protect their bones and prevent osteoporosis.

Are You Struggling With Weight Gain

October 13, 2019
So many of you write and tell me about your struggles with weight gain and an inability to lose stubborn fat. I can relate! Last year I found myself suddenly (or so it seemed) gaining weight for no apparent reason. I was eating healthy (or so I thought). If this sounds familiar for you, the you have to continue reading.

How I Deal with Feelings of Anxiety, Crankiness, and
 Crying Spells

September 17, 2019
I don’t know about you, but there are plenty of times I feel overwhelmed by feelings of anxiety, when the weight of the world seems to be on my doorstep and my shoulders. These feelings are often accompanied by crying spells and what I call crankiness—but my family may use a stronger word!

These feelings are not uncommon. Women often experience them around menstruation, and they go up and down along with our wildly fluctuating hormone levels. But what I was experiencing was something different. My anxiety, crankiness and crying spells were not related to my periods. Instead, after consulting a caring healthcare professional, we identified the cause as adrenal fatigue.

Can’t Button Your Pants? How We Can Beat Bloating

August 15, 2019
Perhaps you’re like me. If so, you have two sets of clothes: ones you wear when you are bloated and ones that are comfortable when you are not. That is, pants, skirts, and dresses you can tolerate when you are feeling bigger than a house and those that look and feel good when your stomach is back to normal.

Or maybe this has happened to you once too often: you are enjoying dinner out somewhere and you suddenly want to unbutton your pants because your stomach feels like it’s about to burst?

I'm Tired of Being Tired!

July 16th, 2019
Do you ever wake up in the morning and feel as though you hadn’t slept at all? Do you wake up at 2 AM or 3 AM and lie awake, unable to go back to sleep because you’re trying to solve the world’s problems? I know I have…many times! And I’m not alone. So many of my sisters write to me asking, “Why am I always so tired even after sleeping 8 hours a night?” or “What can I do to stop feeling exhausted by the middle of the day?” or “Why do I wake up in the middle of the night and feel so stressed I can’t fall back asleep?”

Why Everyone Needs a Liver Detox

June 17, 2019
During my recent health challenges—with stress, prediabetes, weight gain, estrogen dominance, adrenal fatigue, thyroid issues—it became apparent I needed to do some internal housekeeping. It was time to clear the toxins out of my body and provide it with an environment safe and ready for healing.

When we think of removing harmful substances from the body, we think of the liver. The liver is THE mistress of clean! It is the organ responsible for eliminating waste from the body!

These 5 Foods Hurt Me, Are They Hurting You?

May 18, 2019
Food seems to have some special power over us, doesn’t it? I, like so many of you, grew up in an environment where food played a central role. Along with my family, I used food to celebrate special and not-so-special occasions. In my case, as a nutritionist, I work with food and counsel women about nutrition at many levels. Food was—and is—an integral part of my life.

I Can’t Lose Weight No Matter What I Do!

April 19, 2019
My dear sisters, I can’t tell you how many times I hear this from my readers and all the women whom I come across who are struggling with their weight. And in the not so distant past, I was shouting this weight loss frustration from the depths of my soul as well. I not only could not lose weight; it also was packing on the pounds, even though I thought I was eating the healthiest foods.

But I learned something life-changing: Not only was I wrong about what I was eating. I also discovered the real reason behind my inability to lose weight.

This one practice is changing my life

March 22, 2019
My dear sisters:

I feel so blessed to be back with you after being away for several months. I hope you are as ready and psyched as I am about making 2019 and the years beyond more vibrant, healing, and fulfilling for all of us.

One of the best ways to embrace and realize these goals is to make personal, healthy changes in our lives. In my last blog, “I Have a Confession to Make,” I told you we would be exploring ways to meet our health challenges, and I invited you to join me on this journey. Welcome! I hope you are ready to begin as we learn and grow and heal together.

I Thought I Had My Life Under Control: I Was Wrong

February 26, 2019
My dear sisters, I am truly overwhelmed by the responses I received from so many women when I revealed I am experiencing a flood of health challenges—weight gain, adrenal fatigue, thyroid problems, estrogen dominance, and prediabetes. Up until I was faced with these hurdles, I thought I had my life under control. Boy, I was wrong!

I Have A Confession To Make

January 21, 2019
My dear sisters,

I have been away for a while. Not just physically, as demonstrated by the lack of blog posts in recent months. No, I have been away mentally, emotionally, and spiritually as well. Please know that I held all of you in my heart during that time, but you did not know that, and for that I am sorry.

I did not step away willingly from Divine Renewal. But, as we all know, life tosses us challenges from time to time. For the past few months, I have been dodging and weaving the incoming barrage.
