Every Day Is Women’s Day

March 8 is recognized as Women’s Day, and while I applaud its existence, this symbolic gesture is a long way from the ideal: every day is women’s day.


Commemorating this day causes me to reflect on the meaning of the Divine Feminine and how I got separated from mine at an early age. I didn’t realize until many years later that my body is a sacred vessel and that I need to honor it through various self-love and self-care habits and actions.

For years, I used food in all the wrong ways. I deprived myself of nourishment

 to help me bury the shame, fear, frustration, anger, loneliness, and depression that haunted me every day. Then I did a complete turnaround and ate food to stop experiencing the same feelings. 

Guess what? Neither of these strategies worked. They didn’t fill the void I carried with me every day. My body, mind, and spirit still felt empty.

3 Simple Rules To Staying Sane During The Holidays

I’m so glad you are reading this blog right now! Although you can’t see me, I’m casting out my arms and embracing each and every one of you and also asking you to: 

1. Relax your shoulders 
2. Take a deep breath through your nose and hold it for several seconds 
3. Slowly release the air in your lungs through your mouth 
4. Repeat steps 1-3 at least two or three more times 
Now that I’ve slowed you down, for the next few minutes I invite you to block out any feelings of anxiety or stress that may be whirling around you. In addition to your usual routine job and chores and responsibilities, you may be facing the hectic demands of the holiday season—gifts to buy, parties to plan and attend, crowds, traffic, financial worries—it’s enough to drive your adrenal glands into overdrive and even eventually shut down.

Instead, after consulting a caring healthcare professional, we identified the cause as adrenal fatigue.
